About The Position

The Cook/Dining Services Assistant provides assistance in cooking and all dining services functions as directed and instructed in accordance with established dining services policies and procedures. This role involves preparing and serving meals, ensuring dietary restrictions are met, maintaining cleanliness of dining areas and equipment, and assisting with special events. The position also emphasizes resident safety and the protection of residents' rights.

Responsibilities

Preparing and serving meals and delivering trays, as instructed and in accordance with established portions and dietary restrictions and guidelines
Checking trays for appropriateness prior to distribution
Assisting with daily scheduled cleaning duties including surfaces, refrigerators, freezers, and floors
Preparing meal trays, food carts, dining rooms, etc. for meal service
Distributing and collecting resident menus
Delivering food service carts and trays to designated areas
Performing dishwashing and cleaning procedures
Preparing and delivering snacks
Assisting in preparation, set-up, service, and clean-up for special events and parties
Following established safety guidelines and providing a safety environment for residents and coworkers
Ensuring residents' rights are protected
