About The Position

Spring Arbor Frankfort is hiring a Part-Time Cook to join our Dining Services team. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy preparing meals and working in a kitchen environment, with no previous cooking experience required. The company is willing to train dependable candidates who are eager to learn. The position offers a better schedule than traditional restaurants, with a focus on work-life balance and building relationships with residents. The Dining Services team plays a vital role in residents' daily happiness and well-being, creating comfort, connection, and dining experiences that residents look forward to.

Requirements

  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be flexible/adaptable, pay attention to detail, and have a sense of teamwork
  • Must possess good time management skills and a keen awareness of safety
  • Must possess current manager’s level food handler permit
  • Must have positive Criminal Background Screening

Responsibilities

  • Prepare meals according to menus and recipes
  • Assist with food preparation and meal service
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards
  • Follow food safety guidelines
  • Support the Dining Services team during meal service
  • Help create exceptional dining experiences for residents
  • Prepare food of the highest quality and taste for residents and guests
  • Prepare delicious and attractive food that is colorful and tastefully presented
  • Supervise the kitchen under the direction of the Dining Services Director (DSD) and Chef/Lead Cook
  • Prepare high quality meals consistent with local customs and tastes
  • Consistently adhere to the standard recipes, the budgeted costs and Company policies
  • Supervise and/or assist in the proper washing of all dishes, cookware, flatware, and utensils
  • Properly maintain all kitchen equipment
  • Monitor water temperatures and/or chemical compounds as appropriate to ensure the prevention of foodborne illness and the spread of communicable disease
  • Approach residents and associates in a friendly, service-oriented manner
  • Other job duties as assigned
