About The Position

Responsible for preparation and direct dietary services of foods to residents/ consumers under the direction and supervision of the Dietary Manager. The position will provide direct dietary services to residents/consumers within the community. Generally, to be a part of a team effort for the overall effective operations to dining services.

Requirements

  • Strong people skills are required.
  • Ability to understand English both written and spoken.
  • Must have sufficient communication and language skills to perform duties, and communicate with residents, other staff, family members, and health care professionals, as needed.
  • Obtain or possess up-to-date CPR (including abdominal thrust) and First Aid certification directed by state and agency guidelines for healthcare settings.
  • Obtain or possess up-to-date Food Handler Certification as directed by state guidelines.
  • Satisfactory background check including criminal history, and employment verification for the position held.
  • A current state food handler’s card is mandatory
  • current driver’s license is mandatory

Nice To Haves

  • A background in restaurant food service is preferred.
  • Knowledge of food handling, serving procedures, and experience in customer service is also preferred.
  • current ServeSafe Certificate is preferred, but not mandatory.
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Proven experience with food service in a similar setting, preferably in an assisted living facility or healthcare setting.
  • Experience in a health care setting preferred.

  • Participates in Quality Assurance activities as requested
  • Attends a regular supervisory meeting with Management which includes staffing issues, troubleshooting, and dietary review
  • Participates in staff training and education
  • Performs clean-up duties as needed for each meal service
  • Uses equipment and materials carefully, and in a safe manner, following correct operation and cleaning procedures
  • Reports all repair and maintenance needs to the supervisor
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Employees in this position must successfully pass all governmental and corporate required background investigations, such as, but not limited to, state required criminal history clearance investigations.
