About The Position
Spruce Lake Ministries provides lodging, meeting spaces, and meals for Christian church, family, and corporate groups in the Pocono Mountains. They also host summer camps, programmatic retreats, and outdoor education programs. The Food Service Cook/Chef is responsible for the preparation and serving of meals at Pinebrook or Spruce Lake locations, maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness for staff hygiene and food preparation. This role is part of the Food Service kitchen team.
Requirements
- Growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ
- Support Spruce Lake Ministries' statement of faith and core values
- Teachable spirit, team-player attitude, and servant heart
- Responsible, industrious, hospitable, and enthusiastic
- Minimum of two years of experience in cooking/food service
- Minimum of two years supervisory and/or leadership experience
- Knowledge of meal/menu planning for groups
- Ability to communicate with and manage staff
- Authorized to work in the US
- Must pass FBI Criminal Background fingerprint clearance, PA Child Abuse Clearance, and PA Criminal History Clearance
