As a Cook/Baker, you will prepare a variety of food for patients, caregivers and visitors to ensure they have the energy they need to get through their days, no matter how hectic or demanding. This role offers a unique way to enhance the Cleveland Clinic experience and make a difference in the lives of everyone you meet. A caregiver in this position works days from 5:00AM – 1:30PM or 7:00AM – 3:30, including every other weekend and holiday.

Requirements

High School Diploma/GED
Two years of cooking experience with a variety of menu items
Knowledge of proper food handling, preparation and storage

Nice To Haves

Successful completion of a formal training program for cooks OR three years of related experience
Successful completion of a Culinary Certification Program
Ohio Food Safety Certification

Responsibilities

Review menu and special orders to determine types and quantities of food items to be prepared.
Follow standardized recipes in preparation of all foods.
Plan cooking schedule with supervisor and/or dietitian to ensure food will be ready at specified times.
Confer with dietitians regarding modified diet preparation and use of leftovers.
Adhere to HACCP guidelines in the storage, handling, and preparation of food and in the sanitation and maintenance of work area.
