About The Position

1UP Entertainment + Social is seeking experienced cooks who are team-oriented and bring a positive attitude to their work. This role is within a high-volume scratch kitchen located inside a venue that features bowling, axe throwing, golf simulation, VR, and arcade games, along with two bars. A strong plus for this position is light bakery and sweets experience, as the venue is expanding its dessert and "Sweet Treats" offerings.

Requirements

Prior cook/kitchen experience in a high-volume restaurant or bar.
Light bakery and sweets experience preferred, including basic pastry, dessert plating, or scratch baking fundamentals.
Great attitude, integrity, and a team-player mindset.
Good communication skills with the line, expo, and management.
Ability to read a POS ticket and prepare multiple orders quickly and accurately.
Availability for late nights, weekends, and holidays, with willingness to pick up extra shifts.
Ability to stand and move for long shifts, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in hot/cold conditions.
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Food handler certification or willingness to obtain one.

Nice To Haves

Light bakery and sweets experience is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

Cook to recipe standards, including portions, temperatures, and plating, to ensure consistent food quality.
Operate the station with a sense of urgency, reading orders, firing food on time, and communicating effectively with the expo and team.
Support light bakery and sweets preparation, including pastries, desserts, and Cuban-inspired sweet items.
Handle opening and closing cleaning duties, daily prep, restocking to par levels, and maintaining accurate inventory sheets.
Maintain a clean work area and equipment, clean kitchen floors, and assist with dishwashing as needed.
Communicate any issues to management promptly and assist the team wherever necessary.
Ensure the kitchen is kept in good order.
