MOW-Cook Aide/Driver-Decatur (Morgan County)
About The Position
Responsible for assisting the Food Service Manager to prepare and deliver meals for Meals on Wheels (MOW) clients and to clean the kitchen and kitchen equipment. This position reports directly to the Community Services Team Leader. Regular interaction with co-workers and clients. Performance is measured by the quality, accuracy, timeliness, reliability, and thoroughness of work performed; gaining the trust and respect of the Community Services Team Leader and co-workers. Effective communication (written and verbally); responsiveness to the requests and information needs of the clients and volunteers; commitment and loyalty to the Partnership; and maintenance of confidential information.
Requirements
- High school education or GED.
- Experience working with kitchen equipment and cleaning chemicals.
- Cooking and delivery experience.
- Good organization skills.
- Dependent worker.
- Team player.
- Caring and service-oriented attitude.
- Resourceful.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in food service or food preparation environment helpful.
Responsibilities
- Assists Food Service Manager with preparing food.
- Assists in stocking/replenishing food inventory.
- Assists in daily cleaning/sanitation of equipment and work areas.
- Delivers meals to client homes using the Agency’s vehicle.
- Supports and understands the mission of the Partnership.
- Other duties as may be necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of this position.
