Prepares, cooks, and presents food using established recipes. This role involves reading daily menus, ensuring all ingredients are ready at the start of the shift (mise en place), and performing various food production functions such as measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, and cooking according to recipes and specifications. The Cook 1 is responsible for monitoring food quality, ensuring proper consistency, temperatures, and flavors, and preparing attractive plate and platter presentations. Additionally, this position assists with station setup and breakdown, serving food in proper portions, and preparing customized dishes to order. Maintaining an adequate inventory of supplies, operating kitchen equipment, and ensuring the cleanliness and proper storage of food products and the kitchen area are also key responsibilities. The role requires adherence to safety and security procedures, assisting with menu development, and collaborating with team members and supervisors. Guest interaction with courtesy and professionalism is expected, along with maintaining a clean uniform and performing other assigned duties.
