About The Position

Wells Fargo is seeking talent to join the Business Risk Control and Regulatory Oversight team under the Chief Operating Office (COO) organization for a 2027 summer internship. The Business Risk Control and Regulatory Oversight Early Talent program encompasses two unique pathways: Control Management and Regulatory & Policy Affairs. Control Management (CM) collaborates with and influences front-line business groups and functions through assessment and mitigation of operational risk. Regulatory and Policy Affairs (RAPA) is responsible for Wells Fargo Regulatory Relations, the Enterprise Policy Office, Non-Financial Regulatory Reporting Governance, and the Office of Consumer Practices, focusing on an integrated approach to regulatory, policy, and governance activities. The summer internship program is a 10-week professional development program providing an overview of Wells Fargo's operations, business strategies, and corporate culture. It includes relationship building, work assignments, coaching, feedback, and learning sessions with leaders. The program is designed to provide undergraduate students with an experiential overview of the applicable team under business risk control and regulatory oversight functions and how they support mitigating risk through data analytics, reporting, collaboration, consulting, or creating efficiencies. It incorporates real-world scenarios to prepare participants for a career at Wells Fargo. This competitive internship program targets exceptional juniors and serves as a pipeline for the full-time Analyst Program.

Requirements

  • 6+ months of work experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • Ability to travel 5% or more of the time.
  • Wells Fargo only considers candidates who are presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and who do not require work visa sponsorship from Wells Fargo now or in the future in order to retain their authorization to work in the United States.

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in the following majors: Business Administration, Accounting, Analytics & Data, Business Intelligence, Communication, Computer Science, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Government, Management and Risk Management, Mathematics, Physics, Political Science, Policy & Management, Pre-law, Statistics, Technology, or related business field with an expected graduation of December 2027 – June 2028
  • Involvement in extracurricular enrichment activities through one or more of the following: volunteerism, student organization involvement, study abroad program(s), leadership position(s), non-profit involvement
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) skills
  • Proven ability to prioritize work, take personal accountability, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment
  • Familiarity with AI‑powered productivity tools (such as chat‑based assistants and built‑in features like Microsoft Copilot) to support everyday tasks including research, organizing information, and creating presentations with a strong interest in learning and using these tools responsibly.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to use data insights, learn quickly, adapt to change, and support innovative solutions.
  • Ability to execute with urgency, support business reporting and project management, drive operational excellence, and adapt effectively to change with an enterprise mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in formal internship program and workshop initiatives
  • Review various assignments to become familiar with policies and procedures for which answers can be quickly obtained, related to low-to-medium risk tasks and deliverables
  • Receive direction from managers in a matrixed environment and exercise independent judgment while developing understanding of compliance and risk management requirements for the supported area
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
