About The Position

Wells Fargo is seeking talent to join the Business Risk Control and Regulatory Oversight team under the Chief Operating Office (COO) organization for a 2027 summer internship. The Business Risk Control and Regulatory Oversight Early Talent program encompasses two unique pathways: Control Management and Regulatory & Policy Affairs. Program participants have an opportunity to choose their career path through a competitive internship that may result in an offer into our Full-time Analyst program (2 years). Control Management (CM) collaborates with and influences front-line business groups and functions through assessment and mitigation of operational risk across Wells Fargo. Program participants can work within Control Management to support one of the 15 Wells Fargo business divisions, selecting rotations to engage in a variety of experiences. Regulatory and Policy Affairs (RAPA) provides enterprise leadership and oversight for Wells Fargo's regulatory, policy, governance, and reporting activities. Through Regulatory Relations, the Enterprise Policy Office, the Non-Financial Regulatory Reporting Office, and Operations & Administration, RAPA ensures a coordinated, consistent, and transparent approach to managing regulatory expectations, policy requirements, and governance practices. Through this job requisition, applicants can choose which program(s) they would like to consider and will have an opportunity to learn more and interview based on interest and availability. The summer internship program is a 10-week professional development program providing an overview of Wells Fargo, its operations, business strategies, and corporate culture. It includes relationship building, relevant work assignments, coaching, performance feedback, and learning sessions with key leaders. The program is designed to provide undergraduate students with an experiential overview of the applicable team under business risk control and regulatory oversight functions and how they support mitigating risk through data analytics, reporting, collaboration, consulting, or creating efficiencies. It incorporates real-world scenarios to help prepare participants for a career at Wells Fargo. This competitive program targets exceptional juniors and serves as a pipeline for the Full-time Analyst Program. Program Date: Summer 2027. 40-hour work week. Daily working hours based on business needs. Program Locations: Charlotte, NC (CM, RAPA). Locations are subject to change and contingent on business needs.

Requirements

  • 6+ months of work experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in the following majors: Business Administration, Accounting, Analytics & Data, Business Intelligence, Communication, Computer Science, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Government, Management and Risk Management, Mathematics, Physics, Political Science, Policy & Management, Pre-law, Statistics, Technology, or related business field with an expected graduation of December 2027 – June 2028
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) skills
  • Proven ability to prioritize work, take personal accountability, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to use data insights, learn quickly, adapt to change, and support innovative solutions.
  • Ability to execute with urgency, support business reporting and project management, drive operational excellence, and adapt effectively to change with an enterprise mindset.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to foster an inclusive environment and actively seek and apply feedback.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in formal internship program and workshop initiatives
  • Review various assignments to become familiar with policies and procedures for which answers can be quickly obtained, related to low-to-medium risk tasks and deliverables
  • Receive direction from managers in a matrixed environment and exercise independent judgment while developing understanding of compliance and risk management requirements for the supported area
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
