For over 70 years, RTX BBN Technologies (BBN) has solved challenging problems through research, exploration, development, and prototyping. BBN’s Non-Kinetic Capabilities and Technologies team leverages computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, math, and physics to tackle customer challenges in electromagnetic warfare (EW), communications, cybersecurity, cyberspace operations, networking, and RF domains for the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Community (IC) customers. BBN is looking for creative, entrepreneurial, and highly motivated, scientists, engineers, and developers who want to create, contribute to, and grow cutting-edge research projects for offensive and defensive cyber and EW operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, mathematics, or physics major obtained by start date
  • Experience in creative programming skills using one or more of: C/C++ or Python
  • Experience with some assembly language (x86/64, ARM, PPC, MIPS, etc.)
  • Understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, wire-level protocols, BGP, RF communications, etc.)
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • Active Security Clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Capture the Flag (CTF) experience
  • OS kernel development experience (e.g., Windows, Linux, MacOS, Android)
  • Reverse engineering skills using a tool such as IDA/Ghidra/BinaryNinja
  • Working knowledge of RF signal processing and algorithm development

Responsibilities

  • Develop next-generation cyber capabilities
  • Create or investigate new types of cyber physical systems
  • Develop exploits, implants, payloads, and communication stacks based on extensive reverse engineering, vulnerability analysis, and software development
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to solve challenging problems and deliver actionable results
  • Operationalize software through extensive testing, documentation, and integration with other systems
  • Participate in laboratory and field tests to collect and analyze data, test new capabilities, and perform demonstrations
  • Overnight travel required for certain projects
