About The Position

The Tunnel Operator is responsible for operating and loading the tunnel washer with proper linen weights, inputting correct formulas, unloading dryers, and monitoring for any alarms. This role involves working with computer-controlled equipment or mechanical machines to ensure they are set up properly, functioning well, and producing quality products. The operator must also ensure machines operate at full capacity according to production goals, are stocked with necessary materials, are well-maintained, and undergo periodic output checks. Daily production and efficiency reports are to be generated.

Requirements

Able to respond to basic verbal commands.
Effectively follow directions.
Organized
Good hand-eye coordination
Able to push or pull carts weighing several hundred pounds
Able to lift up to 50 pounds
Able to stand on feet and work in hot temperatures for several hours
Participate fully in company health and safety programs and comply with all company OSHA policies and procedures.
Follow all lawful employer safety and health rules.
Wear and / or use Personal Protective Equipment, when and how instructed.
Report hazardous conditions to management.
Report any job-related injury or illness to management and seek treatment promptly.

Advise Lead or Supervisor when running out of clean linen to process.
Maintain work area clean and free of trip hazards by maintaining proper housekeeping.
Other duties as requested or assigned by immediate supervisor and/or management group.
Preventing accidents by working safely is to be the highest priority.
Load and unload commercial washers and dryers.
