About The Position

The Convention Set-Up Supervisor oversees and leads a team of Banquet & Set-Up housemen, supporting group functions and the hotel’s guest experience. The role coordinates load-in and load-out activities, protects ballroom assets, inspects function spaces, reports repair needs, and supports shift planning. The supervisor may also perform the duties of a Banquet Set-Up supervisor or houseman as needed, while maintaining food-handling, presentation, safety, and sanitation standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and lead a team of Banquet & Set-Up housemen.
• Communicate load-in and load-out information to all parties involved.
• Monitor groups loading in and out of ballrooms, using tarps and poly tak to protect physical assets.
• Inspect ballroom condition before load-in and after load-out.
• Conduct weekly walkthroughs of all function spaces.
• Document and report repair needs to the maintenance team.
• Maximize revenue by selling poly tak and renting tarps to audio-visual and production companies loading in and out.
• Assist with planning daily shift assignments.
• Perform the duties of a Banquet Set-Up supervisor or houseman as necessary.
• Discipline staff accordingly.
• Maintain food-handling and presentation hygiene standards.
• Follow safety and sanitation policies.
