About The Position

The convenience store clerk will sell, distribute, and market store items and related products in a manner that will optimize the cooperative’s market share and savings, improve the cooperative’s efficiency, help achieve the cooperative’s mission and goals, and result in outstanding customer service.

Requirements

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to communicate effectively with customers and co-workers.
Ability to apply concepts of basic math skills.
Knowledge of and the ability to use a point-of-sale system.
Must be able to stand for 4 hours at a time.
Must be able to lift 40 regularly and 50 occasionally.

Responsibilities

Providing a customer friendly environment which includes greeting and acknowledging every customer, maintaining outstanding standards, solid product knowledge, and all other components of customer service.
Maintaining property, facilities, and equipment.
Following all company policies as written in the policy manual as well as retail SOPs.
Attending all store/staff meetings as directed.
Collecting cash, checks, credit cards or charge payments from customer and making change for cash transactions.
Filling Propane bottles and lifting hoses to fill RV’s.
Answering phones as needed.
Assisting in floor moves, merchandising, display maintenance and store housekeeping.
Stocking, pricing, and rotating all food merchandise and assisting with the store inventory.
Maintaining a clean and neat appearance for all areas of the store.
Dating food, checking for expiration and freshness dates and rotating as needed.
Following daily checkout procedures to assist in daily balancing of cash drawers.
Assisting in other areas/departments of the store as needed.
