About The Position

We are seeking a dependable, customer-focused Convenience Site Attendant to join our team in Newport, NC. In this role, you will assist with the daily operations of our local waste and recycling facility. You will be responsible for greeting community members, directing them on proper disposal guidelines, maintaining a safe and clean site, and operating site equipment safely.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills to interact effectively with the public and team members.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions, safety procedures, and posted guidelines.
• Basic math skills for general site reporting/tracking, if required.
• Ability to work required shifts, including weekends and holidays as scheduled.
• Valid work authorization in the country where the job is located is required.
• Successful candidates will be required to provide valid documentation confirming their eligibility to work in the country where the job is located prior to their start date.

Responsibilities

• Greet residents and provide clear, polite guidance on where to dispose of household waste, bulk items, and recyclable materials.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe facility by sweeping, clearing debris, and picking up litter or spillage as needed.
• Safely operate and monitor facility equipment (such as trash compactors) according to company safety procedures.
• Monitor container fill levels throughout the day.
• Assist collection drivers with positioning, securing, or clearing area around waste containers during pickups.
• Open and close the facility punctually according to the scheduled operating hours.
• Adhere to all federal, state, and local safety standards, regulations, and company guidelines.
