About The Position

The Controls Wiring Field Supervisor leads a team of Controls wiring field technicians to enhance the performance of Control wiring technicians. Also responsible for the continuous training, growth and improvement of Controls Wiring field techs. This role involves coordinating with Project Managers on start dates and manpower needs, serving as a liaison between the field and the office, assisting with the onboarding process for new technicians, and providing regular feedback and coaching on performance. The supervisor is also responsible for hiring field associates, working with temp staffing companies if needed, holding field associates accountable for their actions, and reviewing/approving weekly time and expenses. They will conduct weekly onsite job visits, maintain the schedule board, represent the team at quarterly meetings, and perform annual performance reviews, setting goals and addressing performance issues. The role requires assisting the Ops Manager with team resource oversight and forecasting staffing needs. Flexibility for overtime/weekends and regular travel with overnight stays is expected.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in scheduling/dispatching required.
  • 2 years of customer service experience required.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to pass drug screening.
  • Ability to prove US employment eligibility.
  • Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets service bulletins, technical procedure manuals, equipment specifications, and governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, policies, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from top management, customers, and service personnel.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Regular travel requirements with overnight travel.
  • Frequent use of computers, mobile devices and Microsoft products to manage business processes and tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Leads a team of Controls wiring field technicians to enhance their performance.

  • Hires field associates based on workload, including working with a temp staffing company if additional manpower is needed.
  • Holds all field associates accountable for their actions that require disciplinary action, including HR and manager if needed.
  • Reviews and approves field associate’s weekly time and expenses for accuracy.
  • Conducts weekly onsite job visits as projects are in progress.
  • Maintains the schedule board to ensure it is accurate at all times.
  • Represents team at quarterly Team Leader meetings and provides team with feedback, including any updates.
  • Performs annual performance reviews with each field technician; sets goals and addresses all performance issues; provides recognition for exemplary performance.
  • Assists Ops Manager and provides oversight of respective team resources.
  • Forecasts anticipated staffing needs for your territory with the Project Managers.
  • Demonstrates and promotes a spirit of cooperation and teamwork throughout the Company.
  • Continually looks for ways to improve processes and ability to serve customers effectively.
  • Improves personal performance on a continual basis.
  • Provides responsive, professional, and diplomatic customer service.

  • Immediately addresses any customer’s concern and requests the involvement of other Company personnel as required.
  • Follows all company safety programs and reports any non-compliance to your Team Leader.
  • Notifies Team Leader or Safety Director of any unsafe conditions.
  • Ensures proper PPE equipment is used at all times when necessary.
  • Reports all accidents and injuries to your Team Leader and HR immediately.
  • Completes all monthly training topics on safety during the month due.
  • Directly supervises field employees in the Controls wiring Department.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
