About The Position

A reputable and forward-thinking Building Automation & Integration contractor is looking to add a full-time Controls Technician in San Diego, CA. You’ll join a close-knit, mid-sized team of 50+ professionals known for delivering high-performance BAS solutions for Class A commercial facilities and federal clients. This role is ideal for a technician with strong BMS/DDC service experience who enjoys hands-on troubleshooting, integration work, and supporting both service and project activities.

Requirements

  • Strong field experience with BAS/BMS troubleshooting and service
  • Ability to operate independently while managing contract responsibilities
  • Working knowledge of DDC programming methods (block or scripting)
  • Familiarity with interoperability and common BAS communication protocols
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and organization skills

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with the existing Controls Technician team
  • Provide primary support to the Service Group with periodic support to the Projects Group
  • Manage assigned Service Contracts and customer relationships
  • Diagnose, repair, and optimize BMS/DDC systems and controllers
  • Conduct routine preventive maintenance and corrective repairs
  • Assist with backups, firmware updates, and database maintenance
  • Program DDC using block-based or script-based tools
  • Integrate third-party systems (BACnet, Modbus, LON, etc.) into BAS architectures
