About The Position

The PLC/Controls Technician is a leader in electrical/controls systems and that prioritizes troubleshooting, maintaining, correcting and designing electrical control systems.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience with industrial electrical systems
  • Ability to manage electrical/controls projects
  • Ability to troubleshoot industrial electrical systems and devices
  • Ability to design and install new electrical control systems
  • Ability to read and understand PLC programs.
  • Responsible for VFD set up.
  • Ability to operate hand tools and power tools
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical systems
  • Ability to train and mentor other team members on electrical and control systems
  • Ability to communicate clearly with Kerry team members and contractors

Nice To Haves

  • Progamming will be a plus.
  • HMDI and HMI a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Design, specify components, assemble, install, test and maintain automation and control systems
  • Troubleshoot automation and control systems using appropriate tools and test equipment. Repair and make changes as required
  • Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components
  • Inspect and test electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the needed changes or repairs to ensure performance and safety of systems
  • Ensure electrical systems meet local, regional and national standards for safety
  • Navigate and understand PLC programs and component communication protocols
  • Train and mentor other maintenance team members in electrical, automation and control systems
  • Use the appropriate hand tools and power tools to disassemble and reassemble manufacturing equipment
  • Inspect, maintain and troubleshoot mechanical systems and manufacturing equipment
  • Operate work vehicles such as forklift, scissor lift, articulating lift, etc.
  • Manage projects, understand internal customer requirements and communicate with suppliers to secure needed parts
