About The Position

HireNow Staffing is actively recruiting a seasoned, highly skilled Controls Technician to join one of our valued client partners in Grand Bay, Alabama. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced automation professional with a strong background in industrial controls, PLC programming, SCADA systems, and electrical troubleshooting. The successful candidate will play a vital role in designing, installing, commissioning, and maintaining industrial automation systems while ensuring equipment reliability, operational efficiency, and compliance with safety standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of Controls Technician experience within an industrial or manufacturing environment
  • Experience programming and supporting PLC control systems
  • Experience working with SCADA systems
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
  • Knowledge of industrial automation equipment and control devices
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work onsite in Grand Bay, Alabama
  • U.S.-based applicants only
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree or technical certification in Electrical Technology, Industrial Automation, Mechatronics, or related field
  • Experience with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar PLC platforms
  • Experience with HMI programming and industrial networking
  • Experience supporting manufacturing or industrial production environments
  • Knowledge of variable frequency drives (VFDs), instrumentation, and motor controls
  • Preventive maintenance and continuous improvement experience
  • Strong understanding of industrial safety standards and electrical best practices
  • Extensive industrial automation experience within manufacturing environments
  • Experience with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, HMI, and industrial networking platforms
  • Strong preventive maintenance and continuous improvement background
  • Ability to independently troubleshoot complex automation and electrical systems
  • Experience supporting capital equipment installations and automation upgrades
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and technical documentation skills
  • Stable employment history demonstrating reliability, technical expertise, and long-term commitment

Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, and program industrial control systems
  • Install, commission, test, and troubleshoot industrial automation equipment
  • Program, modify, and maintain PLC and SCADA systems
  • Diagnose electrical, automation, and control system issues to minimize equipment downtime
  • Perform preventive maintenance and system optimization activities
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, wiring diagrams, and system specifications
  • Provide technical support to operations, maintenance, and production teams
  • Ensure all automation systems comply with applicable safety standards and company procedures
  • Assist with equipment upgrades, control system improvements, and process optimization
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and project documentation
