About The Position

As a Controls Technician, you troubleshoot, repair, and maintain the mechanical, electrical, and PLC-driven systems that keep operations moving. Your hands-on expertise directly protects uptime and equipment reliability. This role is in a non-union facility with an experienced, long-tenured maintenance team, working with well-maintained equipment in a clean, well-kept facility. The company continues investing in new equipment and capital improvements. Overtime opportunities are available on 2nd shift.

Requirements

  • 2-15 years of experience in general production maintenance, with 3-5 years at a journeyman level preferred
  • Strong knowledge of electronics, electrical systems, HVAC, hydraulics, machining, and mechanical theory
  • Experience with Allen Bradley PLCs and 480-volt industrial electrical systems
  • Strong communication skills, computer proficiency, and the ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks including stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, lifting, and crawling
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Must provide own hand tools and tool box
  • Valid Forklift Operator's license, or ability to pass required training
  • High School Diploma or GED required

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in an industrial fluid application facility preferred
  • Certification in a related trade preferred

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment, including motors, pumps, piping systems, conveyors, furnaces, chillers, boilers, extruders, chemical tanks, and production machinery
  • Apply craft skills across mechanical, electrical, welding, pipe fitting, and machining disciplines to install, fabricate, and repair production and facilities equipment
  • Install new machinery and reposition equipment to support layout changes, including rigging, aligning, and hook-ups
  • Perform preventative maintenance, including extensive dismantling, reassembly, calibration, and lubrication
