We are seeking a Controls Technician who is a self-motivated, detail-oriented professional with strong technical aptitude and problem-solving ability. This individual will play a key role in maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving automated systems that support manufacturing operations, while also providing technical support across Engineering, Maintenance, and Production teams.

Requirements

  • Strong working knowledge of PLC logic and software tools, including Allen-Bradley Studio 5000, RS Logix.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, ladder logic diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Familiarity with computer systems for documenting maintenance activities, program changes, and system configurations.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and system integrity.
  • Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written.
  • Perform the job safely while adhering to company safety standards.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in metal stamping, fabrication, or automotive manufacturing preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair control system reliability issues, including control panels, wiring, sensors, instrumentation, vision systems, and VFDs.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues throughout the plant.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and calibration on controls and instrumentation systems.
  • Modify and update ladder logic to resolve production or system performance issues.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, ladder logic diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance and production support calls to troubleshoot and resolve equipment or control system issues, minimizing downtime.
  • Install and configure new I/O modules, sensors, and VFDs to integrate with existing systems.
  • Document maintenance activities, program changes, and system configurations using computer systems.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams to achieve production goals and minimize downtime.
  • Train operators and junior technicians on basic troubleshooting and safe control system operation.
