About The Position

Maintain and repair the electrical and electronic aspects of winery equipment. Under the general direction of the Controls Lead, is responsible for the day to day maintenance of winery equipment, set up and production.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in designing, programming, installing, or maintaining automated systems
  • Safely use electrical equipment
  • Proficient electrical understanding and troubleshooting techniques
  • Understanding of Control Reliability
  • Demonstrates a highly motivated work ethic
  • Demonstrates the ability to effectively work as part of team
  • Ability to accurately follow instructions and take direction
  • Ability to respond to frequently changing production pressures
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Good organizational skills
  • Valid California Driver’s license

Responsibilities

  • Performing more difficult tasks without supervision
  • Understanding of hand tools and hardware
  • Can complete PM work orders independently and improve or create work instructions
  • Electrical functions to include: Bending conduit, threading pipe, running support hangars, pulling and land wire, changing light bulbs, safely using electrical equipment, troubleshooting electrical motors, use a multi-meter, troubleshoot and install electrical components, Repair and replace photo eyes and limit switches, read schematics, understand NEC
  • PLC Programing functions to include: going on line with a PLC, read drawings, identify PLC hardware and I/O devices, repairs under general supervision, preform VFD replacement and simple programming, PLC component replacement and troubleshooting, create PLC programs, Edit PLC programs, Edit HMI programs, Program VFD’s, Layout and assemble panels
  • Instrumentation skills including: Reading P&ID drawings, understand signal processing, understand PID control, ability to identify process control devices, perform instrument calibrations, tune PID loops, configure devices, understand processes, analyze historical data
  • Demonstrates ability to follow all safety protocols (lock-out-tag-out, Personal Protective Equipment, etc.)
  • Safe use of company power lift equipment (man-lift, forklift, golf carts)
  • Hazardous waste awareness and environmental awareness
  • Proficient computer skills / familiarity with MS Office
  • Responsible for understanding the Food Safety and Quality Management System and related activities, including the SQF Food Safety & Quality Policy
  • Mentor junior staff
  • Manage small jobs including specifying parts to purchase
