About The Position

We are looking for an experienced Controls Technician to support commercial, industrial, and municipal HVAC controls and building automation projects across the Gulf Coast region. This is a hands-on field position for someone who understands how HVAC control systems are installed, started up, commissioned, and troubleshot in real-world jobsite environments. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with low-voltage wiring, DDC controls, BAS systems, control drawings, field devices, and commercial HVAC equipment. This role is a strong fit for someone who enjoys technical troubleshooting, working directly with project teams, and helping ensure building automation systems are installed correctly and operating as intended.

Requirements

  • Experience with HVAC controls, building automation, DDC controls, BAS, or low-voltage systems preferred
  • Ability to read and understand control drawings, wiring diagrams, and sequences of operation
  • Basic understanding of commercial HVAC equipment and control applications
  • Experience working with BAS platforms, controllers, sensors, actuators, valves, dampers, or similar devices preferred
  • Strong troubleshooting skills related to wiring, communication, controls, and system operation
  • Comfortable working on active commercial, industrial, and municipal jobsites
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently while also coordinating with a project team
  • Must be local to the Mobile, AL area or able to reliably commute to project sites
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required

Responsibilities

  • Install, troubleshoot, and commission HVAC controls and building automation systems
  • Perform point-to-point checkout, controller setup, wiring verification, and system startup
  • Read and interpret control drawings, wiring diagrams, sequences of operation, and project documentation
  • Support DDC controls, BAS integration, sensors, actuators, valves, dampers, and related field devices
  • Diagnose wiring, communication, programming, equipment, and system-performance issues
  • Work with project managers, programmers, engineers, contractors, and field teams to complete controls projects
  • Assist with system testing, functional verification, startup support, and owner training when needed
  • Document service notes, startup results, field updates, and project progress accurately
  • Communicate professionally with customers, contractors, vendors, and internal team members
  • Follow jobsite safety requirements and company procedures while working in the field
