About The Position

PRINCIPAL DUTIES for all levels of Technicians: Loads and configures system‑level controller software in accordance with approved project documents and standards. Performs basic commissioning and system diagnostics from system‑level controllers to end devices (e.g., sensors, actuators, relays, VFD interfaces). Verifies proper operation of field devices, controllers, and control sequences during checkout and startup activities. Uses basic electronic test equipment (e.g., meters, calibration tools) to calibrate control devices and systems as required. Complete all required commissioning and checkout documentation accurately and in a timely manner. Safety, Documentation & Workflow Follows all applicable safety policies, procedures, and standards, maintaining a high degree of regard for employee, subcontractor, and site safety. Completes required safety training and actively participates in jobsite safety programs. Documents deficiencies and system issues, providing clear information for resolution and completion. Documents changes from design or installation conditions and provides accurate information for as‑built documentation. Communication & Coordination Keeps management and the assigned JCI contractor or customer informed of job progress, issues, risks, and required actions. Communicates with the JCI contractor or customer upon arrival and before leaving the work site, ensuring awareness of work performed and outstanding items. Coordinates daily activities and expectations with project stakeholders to support schedule and quality goals. Administrative Responsibilities Completes administrative tasks, including but not limited to time sheets, expense reports, daily reports, and on‑site documentation, in accordance with company requirements. Ensures documentation is accurate, complete, and submitted within required timeframes. Controls Systems Associate Technician 3 (Systems Technician I) Technical Skills Demonstrates basic technical aptitude and safe use of hand and power tools . Installs low‑voltage devices and basic system components under direct supervision. Basic computer literacy for documentation and mobile workflows. Follows drawings, instructions, and safety procedures with attention to detail. Performs low‑voltage terminations as permitted by local licensing requirements . Entry Level P2P (point to point verification) Safety, Documentation & Workflow — Daily Mandatory Completes PJCs for each task and each project prior to starting work. Completes DTRs per day, per project in the CWA , accurately reflecting work performed and issues identified. Enters punch list items in CWA when deficiencies are found, with clear descriptions, locations, and supporting evidence (photos/notes). Works assigned punch list items to completion and clears them in CWA with appropriate notes. Uses CWA to execute assigned checkout and verification steps. Professional & Leadership Qualities Demonstrates willingness to learn and accepts coaching. Communicates clearly with supervisors, and Project Team Follows all safety, site, and company standards. Working knowledge of HVAC mechanical systems and controls interaction. Proficient with test equipment and commissioning tools . Basic understanding of electrical circuitry related to HVAC controls. More complex P2P (point to point verification) Safety, Documentation & Workflow — Daily Mandatory Completes PJCs for each task and each project prior to starting work. Complete DTRs per day, per project in CWA , accurately reflecting work performed and issues identified. Enters punch list items in CWA , accurately reflecting work performed and issues identified. Enters punch list items in CWA when deficiencies are found, with clear descriptions, locations, and supporting evidence (photos/notes). Requirements

  • 2+ years commissioning experience with electronic and/or mechanical systems.
  • Working knowledge of HVAC mechanical systems and controls interaction.
  • Proficient with test equipment and commissioning tools .
  • Basic understanding of electrical circuitry related to HVAC controls.
