About The Position

Price Industries Inc. is seeking a Controls Specialist to support automation initiatives at our Suwanee, GA facility. Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, this position will be responsible for programming, commissioning, troubleshooting, and improving industrial automation and control systems. The ideal candidate will have strong PLC programming skills, experience with SCADA systems (preferably Ignition), and knowledge of robotics, motion control, and industrial automation.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of industrial automation or controls experience.
  • Extensive PLC programming and troubleshooting experience, preferably Allen-Bradley/Rockwell and Click PLC.
  • SCADA development and support experience; Ignition preferred.
  • HMI programming and troubleshooting experience.
  • Knowledge of Ethernet/IP, Modbus, OPC-UA, and industrial networking.
  • Experience with VFDs, servo drives, and motion control systems.
  • Robotic programming and troubleshooting experience; Fanuc and/or Yaskawa preferred.
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting skills, including sensors, safety devices, motor controls, and control panels.
  • Knowledge of pneumatic systems and industrial automation components.
  • Ability to read electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic drawings.
  • Experience implementing and commissioning automated equipment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; AutoCAD experience is an asset.

Nice To Haves

  • Fanuc and/or Yaskawa experience preferred.
  • Ignition experience preferred.
  • AutoCAD experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Program, troubleshoot, and optimize PLC-controlled automation systems.
  • Develop and maintain SCADA applications, with preference for Ignition experience.
  • Design, program, and troubleshoot HMI applications.
  • Configure and troubleshoot VFDs, servo drives, and motion control systems.
  • Support robotic systems including programming, point teaching, troubleshooting, and recovery.
  • Commission new automation equipment and control systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical, controls, pneumatic, and automation-related issues.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, control drawings, mechanical prints, and pneumatic diagrams.
  • Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, operations, and system integrators on automation projects.
  • Improve existing automation cells through programming and process enhancements.
  • Research and recommend new automation technologies, sensors, drives, and controls.
  • Maintain automation documentation, backups, and technical records.
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting support to maintenance and production teams.
