About The Position

The Controls Software Engineer works in several aspects of industrial controls engineering, including machine software development, creation and support, machine simulation, vision applications, and other specialized areas. The role includes an initial training phase of up to two years working with a Senior Designer to learn how to develop machine and equipment solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Knowledge of electrical design.
• Computer programming experience in C# and Visual Basic.
• Self-motivated and a team player.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong math skills and understanding of basic electrical circuits.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Willing to work overtime as needed.
• Willing to travel domestically and internationally.
• Ability to secure and maintain a valid passport.

Nice To Haves

• Siemens PLC knowledge.
• Knowledge of industrial robotics.

Responsibilities

• Understand and perform all controls engineering tasks.
• Support Senior Designers and Project Engineers.
• Generate software solutions, including PLC, robot, vision, and HMI packages.
• Evaluate customer specifications and their impact on GROB’s products.
• Apply international (IEC, ISO) and national (NFPA) standards.
