About The Position

Controls Software Application Specialist II supports TDControls on the Shared Services team that works with all TDControls locations. This position is responsible for building the Tridium Workstation backbone using Niagara framework, integrate 3rd party controller interfaces, integrate field level controller template programs from Siemens and Distech product lines for all equipment within a project, and builds and binds graphics for building automation and access control systems. Creates Niagara and field level programming for major pieces of equipment to meet sequence of operations for projects. Works closely with TDControls Partners to resolve discrepancies and effectively communicates application constraints to complete assigned work in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in IT or Computer Systems or equivalent experience desired.
  • 2+ years’ experience in HVAC controls in a field technician role.
  • 2+ years’ experience in BAS controls in a software programming role.
  • Tridium Advanced Niagara Certification.
  • Tridium wiresheet logic programming capabilities.
  • Knowledge of industry-standard communication protocols such as LON, Modbus, and BACnet.
  • Experience with Siemens or Distech controller products is required.
  • COMPTIA A+ and Net+ Certification
  • Strong knowledge of engineering processes.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate in Sales to Operations Turnover Meetings to receive project specifications and contract documents from the sales team, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
  • Utilize technical expertise to design building automation and access control workstations for new construction and service installations, ensuring adherence to specifications, sequences of operation, and controls submittals.
  • Communicates with managers and project managers to complete job assignments in a timely manner.
  • Creates Tidium Niagara Station backbone and communication structure per controls submitals and drawings.
  • Loads and configures standard programming into field controllers and integrates the field devices to the BAS front end.
  • Performs system integrations with 3rd party devices and equipment into Tridium, Siemens, or Distech controls systems.
  • Creates programming for the control of equipment such as AHUs and simple Chiller Plant controllers using the GFX, ABT Site, PPCL, and Niagara software where required.
