About The Position

The Controls Tech IV serves as a senior field authority for complex controls systems, customers, and technical teams. The role delivers reliable, secure, and user-friendly building-automation solutions for commercial HVAC, lighting, monitoring, and related systems while representing DynaTen with professionalism and technical accuracy. This position reports to the Team Lead - Controls.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of commercial building-automation, HVAC controls, low-voltage, or closely related experience.
  • Ability to read control drawings, wiring diagrams, points lists, sequences of operation, and equipment information.
  • Ability to use digital meters, laptops, controls software, and mobile documentation tools safely and accurately.
  • Working knowledge of HVAC systems, low-voltage electrical practices, and IP or field-bus networking appropriate to the assigned level.
  • Valid driver's license and driving record that meets company requirements.
  • Strong safety, troubleshooting, documentation, communication, and customer-service skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical degree or certificate in HVAC, controls, electronics, electrical technology, networking, or a related field.
  • Manufacturer certification for the building-automation platforms supported by DynaTen.
  • Experience with BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks, Niagara, SQL, virtual machines, or third-party system integration.
  • Experience in healthcare, data centers, laboratories, central plants, or other mission-critical environments.

Responsibilities

  • Install, terminate, label, test, and document controllers, panels, sensors, actuators, relays, network devices, and control wiring in accordance with approved drawings and standards.
  • Review control drawings, points lists, sequences of operation, equipment submittals, network architecture, and project requirements before work begins.
  • Perform point-to-point checkout, controller setup, database loading, graphics verification, calibration, functional testing, and commissioning support.
  • Use meters, laptops, manufacturer software, trend data, alarms, and operating information to diagnose and correct controls and integration issues.
  • Coordinate with customers, electricians, mechanical trades, TAB, commissioning agents, engineers, programmers, and project leadership.
  • Complete accurate daily reports, time, material, deficiency, test, as-built, backup, and turnover documentation.
  • Coach less-experienced technicians, review work quality, and lead resolution of complex field, network, sequence, and integration deficiencies.
  • Comply with electrical safety, lockout/tagout, ladder, lift, driving, cybersecurity, customer-site, and project requirements.
  • Protect customer operations and system data, maintain assigned tools and test equipment, and escalate conditions that could affect safety, schedule, warranty, or performance.
  • Participate in scheduled after-hours cutovers, commissioning, service response, or on-call support as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
