About The Position

They are seeking a detail-driven Controls Estimator to join their dynamic team in Madison or Milwaukee. This full-time, exempt position involves developing accurate and timely cost estimates for projects ranging from small upgrades to large-scale installations within building automation and control systems. The role requires precision, problem-solving skills, clear communication, and technical expertise in a fast-paced, collaborative, and tech-forward environment. Requirements

• Proven experience in controls estimating
• Ability to interpret technical specs, plans, and contracts
• Broad understanding of controls construction
• Tech-savvy: Estimating software, Microsoft Office, FTP (training available)
• Strong communicator: Clear, professional verbal and written skills
• Trustworthy: Handles confidential information with integrity
• Organized: Prioritizes tasks and maintains attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Preparing detailed proposals and cost estimates
• Reviewing construction documents and identifying scope
• Performing takeoffs using specialized software
• Soliciting pricing from vendors and subcontractors
• Attending pre-bid meetings and site inspections
• Supporting change order pricing and project turnover
• Maintaining estimating systems and BIM/design setups
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure project success
