About The Position

For Summer 2027 - The Bradbury Internship Program for the Controls Engineering Department has opportunities for individuals to work in various engineering and technical disciplines. Interns could work with our Startup Teams, Programming Teams, or Electrical Design Teams. It allows an intern to not only demonstrate their skills, technical aptitude, and understanding of control systems, but also show their personal strengths, desire to succeed, and ability to interact with others in a manufacturing setting – all done with the supervision, guidance and coaching of an experienced Controls Engineer. The time period must consist of no less than two months.

Requirements

Able to respond to instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Basic shop knowledge - manufacturing processes.

Nice To Haves

Currently working towards an associate degree in Automation Engineering Technology or related field
Currently working toward a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field

Responsibilities

Setup EthernetIP communications on Rockwell based control components, including IP Address, Gateway Address, and Subnet Mask for all networked components.
Install PLC programming into a completed machine using software and hardware, and perform basic debug of the PLC logic (I/O Check).
Tune motion control systems including Linear or Rotary servo motors or Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).
Perform Installation and setup of Human Machine Interface (HMI) terminals applications, including system image installation, communication setup, and interface debugging.
Show programs written in C# in a Microsoft Windows environment, assemble and install them on Bradbury HMIs, develop operator interface graphical modules, and discuss SQL database usage.
Show and explain PLC logic written in Rockwell Automation’s RSLogix Studio platform, demonstrating ladder logic for operating an AB Logix PLC.
Perform other duties as assigned.
