About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Controls Engineer to drive the development and implementation of drylin linear actuators, motors and controllers. The position is ideal for everyone who understands electrical systems and wants to work closely with engineering, customers and sales to deploy existing applications, and help find and develop new solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Electrical, Mechatronics or Robotics Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of motors such as, stepper, servo, BLDC motors as well as experience with PLCs and driver/controllers.
  • Strong technical skills: able to present technical concepts; provide customers with hands-on technique using our products
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
  • National and international Travel on some occasions
  • Additional travel to Trade Shows, with Regional Sales Managers or to Sales Meetings will be required, as needed
  • Self-starter; motivated, team focused and results driven with developed organizational, and time management skills
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for igus linear actuators, motors and controllers to customers and igus sales teams within N. America, to help bring new motion-control applications to life
  • Integrate electrical, mechanical, and software components into cohesive automation solutions. Ensure seamless communication between devices and subsystems for applications and demonstrations
  • Work closely with teams—locally and internationally—to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Work with product expert systems and online tools to identify suitable products
  • Develop and maintain training program and be able to provide training in alignment with the Training and Development Department
  • Assist Product Manager in creating machines, demos and marketing materials
  • Ongoing observation and analysis of market and competition
  • Keep material and product knowledge up to date
