About The Position

The Controls Engineer will be responsible for designing and implementing electrical control systems, pneumatic control systems, and software solutions. This role involves programming and installing PLCs, HMIs, and VFDs, as well as programming robots. The engineer will use AutoCAD for design and documentation, provide field support, and manage project timelines, budgets, and scope. Building strong team relationships, quickly learning new systems, and effectively communicating technical information to various audiences are key aspects of this position. The role also requires making quick and effective decisions and aligning with the company's core values.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Technology, Computer Systems Technology, Information Systems, Engineering or similar technical degree.
• 5-10 years as a Controls or Automation Engineer.
• PLC/Robotics programming, panel design, project management experience.
• Experience with Automation (ABB, Fanuc, Allen Bradley PLC & HMI).
• 2D and 3D CAD.
• Maintain knowledge of industry trends and technological competence.
• Maintain and improve technical knowledge through continued education and training.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement electrical control systems, pneumatic control systems, and software solutions.
• Program and install PLCs, HMIs, and VFDs.
• Program robots.
• Use AutoCAD to create designs and generate design documentation.
• Provide startup support to Perfecto in the field.
• Effectively estimate time and expense requirements for project tasks and manage scope, schedule, and budget.
• Build and expand Team Member relationships.
• Quickly learn new systems and software.
• Effectively communicate with internal team including the Engineering Manager to ensure the on-time completion of projects.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical users via email, phone, and in person.
• Be able to quickly and effectively make decisions based.
