About The Position

At Sentry Equipment, a subsidiary of ProMach‘s Systems business, we have a longstanding reputation in the industries we serve. We offer an extensive portfolio of conveyor equipment and related container handling machinery. We specialize in integrating packaging equipment and conveying systems into cost-effective and efficient plan designs. Our Engineering team works closely on each piece of equipment to ensure the highest quality and innovative solutions. As a Controls Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining electrical control systems for our Conveyor Systems/Automated Machines. This role requires a strong understanding of control systems, electrical engineering principles, and hands-on experience with industrial automation and the ability and willingness to travel to customer sites for start-ups and/or service items. Travel estimated at up to 35%.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Controls or Electrical Engineering preferred
  • Five (5) or more year‘s experience in a similar or related role
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing electrical control systems.
  • Proficiency in programming PLCs (Primarily Allen-Bradley, etc.) and HMIs.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts.
  • Familiarity with industrial automation and control systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop electrical control systems for new and existing products.
  • Create detailed electrical sensor layouts, help with generating electrical schematics for conveyor systems and other machines.
  • Program and configure PLCs, HMIs, and other control devices using Rockwell software.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with existing control systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure system integration and performance.
  • Conduct testing and validation of control systems to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
