About The Position

The Controls Engineer will support the design, construction, integration, launch, and continuous improvement of controls-based manufacturing systems, with balanced ownership across automation, machine vision, and robotics. This position is best suited for an execution-focused engineer who can combine hands-on controls expertise, strong problem solving, and project execution in a fast-paced plant and manufacturing engineering environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent technical experience.
  • Relevant controls engineering experience in manufacturing or manufacturing engineering environments.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical/control systems and the ability to apply that knowledge in production environments.
  • Experience with PLC/HMI programming, industrial networks, and controls system troubleshooting.
  • Experience with robotics integration, setup, or programming in automated manufacturing systems.
  • Working knowledge of machine vision / error-proofing / automated inspection applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple technical assignments with solid autonomy and accountability for results.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving capability.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in controls architecture, standards, or common controls solutions.
  • Experience supporting launch execution, equipment buyoff, plant installation, and production startup.
  • Experience with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, industrial Ethernet, and related plant-floor interfaces.
  • Experience with error-proofing, vision-guided applications, or automated inspection systems in manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated initiative in supporting teammates, driving follow-through, and identifying improvement opportunities within the work area.

Responsibilities

  • Execute automation, machine vision, and robotics scope for new equipment, major upgrades, and continuous improvement projects.
  • Support development, review, and implementation of controls hardware architecture, software design, integration plans, and equipment runoff activities.
  • Diagnose and correct deficiencies in manufacturing controls processes, equipment performance, and system reliability.
  • Support plant operations by solving controls issues and driving improvements in safety, quality, throughput, cost, and performance.
  • Stay current on emerging controls technologies and support deployment of new automation, robotics, and vision capabilities with low launch risk.
  • Work cross-functionally with manufacturing engineering, plant engineering, suppliers, skilled trades, IT/PFS, and other launch teams to deliver program timing and business objectives.
  • Coordinate with more senior engineers and technical leads to escalate risks, align on standards, and close gaps.
  • Recommend process improvements and support standardization across controls execution, robotics, and vision applications.
