About The Position

Responsible for focusing on maintaining optimal conditions during the production process, including ensuring a safe working environment, delivering high-quality products/processes and achieving high-performance levels. Takes a multidisciplinary approach and uses effective communication to identify process improvement opportunities, use problem-solving methodologies, and propose solutions for improvements and technological innovation. Follows guidelines from industry standards such as OSHA, IATF, MOS and others. Applies Controls Engineering knowledge and experience to manufacturing processes while maintaining the safest environment possible, quality standards, and productivity to achieve optimal plant performance. Complies with Environmental, Health, Safety, and Quality Systems guidelines currently applicable to the area and the entire plant. Complies with internal control guidelines, audit and update practices and procedures, and responds to internal and external audits, as needed or requested. Keeps constant feedback with the Automation Coordinator. Seeks continuous process improvement (productivity and profitability) through the application of engineering principles (process redesign, new technologies, etc.). Contributes to define and follow the Standards for Controls Engineering. Responds to the production process abnormalities while focusing on continuous process improvements. Executes CapEx projects within the stated scope, timing, budget, and resources, as assigned. Creates work instructions that benefit the Production and Controls Engineering Teams. Researches new technologies and develops new applications that improve overall plant performance. Collaborates, leads, and/or supports the design and implementation of new products, engineering changes, and processes. Additional responsibilities as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, or related discipline
  • 1 year of experience in the job offered, or in a controls, automation, or project engineering position
  • Implementation and start-up of assembly lines and welding cells
  • Hands-on experience starting up traceability system in an automotive manufacturing plant
