About The Position

Ossid, a ProMach company, is seeking a Controls Engineer in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. This highly visible role offers the opportunity to contribute hands-on engineering expertise as part of a multidisciplinary team and to participate in multiple stages of the manufacturing process. The primary focus is designing, troubleshooting, implementing, and testing electrical control systems for automated packaging machinery. The engineer will create electrical schematics, panel layouts and designs, bills of material, documentation, and training materials; complete Engineering Change Requests; and coordinate with manufacturing to improve processes. The role includes travel of up to 10% to customer locations to oversee machine installation, provide service and commissioning, and deliver technical training to employees and customers, both in-house and on-site. The position reports to the Controls Engineering Manager.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science degree, technical school degree, or equivalent proven work experience in control software design and implementation.
Familiarity with SolidWorks or AutoCAD electrical design software.
Knowledge of machine control, including I/O hardware, signal conditioning, field devices, and sensors.
Ability to work on a cross-functional team that includes engineering and field services.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

Design, troubleshoot, implement, and test electrical control systems for automated packaging machinery.

Create panel layouts and designs.
Create bills of material.
Prepare documentation and training materials.
