Requirements

  • Excellent mechanical aptitude, along with strong analytical capability.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills to work with people in a professional manner.
  • Must be self-directed and motivated individual who is willing to accept responsibility.
  • Willing and able to work excess hours when necessary.
  • Must be able to travel as required to customers and suppliers.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Project) is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and implement safe, efficient, cost-effective, and robust automated systems that increase productivity, improve accuracy, maintain repeatability, reduce repetition, and achieve quality requirements.
  • Determine engineering solutions to mechanical, electrical, robotic, pneumatic, and hydraulic problems.
  • Write new code and updated existing code for programmable devices, such as robots, servo drives, and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC’s) in accordance with company standards.
  • Support and audit the automation preventative maintenance program.
  • Research companies for superior and more cost-effective products when implementing new systems or upgrading old ones.
  • Provide financial justification for new projects and improvements on existing automated systems.
  • Once approved, insure completion of a project within allotted budget.
  • Involvement in new business quotations and new product manufacturing feasibility.
  • Provide guidance in maintaining all production equipment including, but not limited to, robotic systems, servo drives, PLC’s, leak-test units and safety devices.
  • Work closely with tool shops in the design and building of new automated tooling and systems.
  • Involvement with 8D Teams and implementation of any corrective actions as needed.
  • Maintain and support KAIZEN and ITS activities.
  • Special projects, as required by the Engineering Manager.
