About The Position

RWS One is a full service system integrator serving the food and beverage industry. We design complete food processing systems for some of the largest food and beverage companies in the nation. Upon completion of the design, RWS One also oversees the mechanical and electrical installation of the systems as well as the writing and commissioning of the computerized systems that control the processing system. The installation of the computerized controls sets our company apart from the rest. RWS One is a privately held company with a core belief in taking care of the employees that make our company successful. As such, we are currently seeking employees with experience in controls engineering to program and commission projects throughout the USA. RWS One is based in Roscoe, IL but handles projects coast to coast in the USA. A successful candidate should expect a minimum of 50% travel.

Requirements

  • Four year technical degree (BS; or other directly related degree program) or equivalent job experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC / PAC programming across all platforms (SLC, Micrologix, PLC 5, Control Logix)
  • Strong knowledge of HMI programming software. (Factory Talk View & Ignition is a plus)
  • 5+years experience in programming, installation, startup, and debugging of integrated production systems.
  • Electrical troubleshooting capabilities to include 480-volt, 110-volt, and low voltage control systems.
  • Able to read and interpret AutoCAD P&ID Drawings.
  • Ability to adjust to changing timelines and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent skills in time management, organization, and analytics.
  • Basic understanding of hydraulics, fluid flow, pneumatics, and electric circuits.
  • A successful candidate will have strong verbal and written communication skills and be able to work well independently and in team environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the food, pharmaceutical, beverage, or consumer products industries is preferred.
  • Familiarity with USDA and FDA regulations, and 3A dairy standards is a plus.
  • Knowledge of turnkey plant systems with emphasis on process piping is a definite plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop high-quality PLC and HMI programming aligned with the defined project requirements.
  • Edit, support, and integrate into existing PLC & HMI programs.
  • Specify and maintain I/O lists used to coordinate electrical design with program design.
  • Test, Debug, Modify, and Validate all system functions prior to shipment.
  • Start-up and Commission completed system at customer site for final customer approval.
  • Train customer’s employees on the operation and program maintenance of the delivered system.
  • Maintain electrical schematics after initial system assembly is complete.
  • Provide ongoing technical and troubleshooting support as requested by clients as on-going support after startup.
  • Flexibility to travel for installations and onsite startup is required. Average travel expectation in excess of 50%. Some periods of heavy travel should be expected.
