Requirements

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related discipline.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the automation industry.
  • Proficiency in electrical design using AutoCAD Electrical or SolidWorks Electrical.
  • Familiarity with Vision Systems such as Cognex or Keyence.
  • Hands-on experience in configuring and programming Allen-Bradley and B&R PLCs and HMIs.
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical, fluid power, and electrical principles and prints.
  • Strong multitasking, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel to various customer sites.

Nice To Haves

  • Programming knowledge of robotics is a valuable asset.

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring, modifying, and writing PLC programs, primarily for Allen-Bradley and B&R systems.
  • Creating schematics and drawings using electrical CAD software.
  • Wiring electrical control panels to meet specific project requirements.
  • Programming control systems that utilize PLCs, motion controllers, and HMIs.
  • Onsite installation and commissioning of automation equipment.
  • Diagnosing and replacing faulty electrical and electronic components.
  • Interpreting mechanical design drawings from SolidWorks to address electrical requirements.
  • Researching supplier products for assembly components.
  • Developing comprehensive electrical bills of materials.
  • Overseeing the quality of work by assemblers and technicians.
  • Collaborating with Sales Engineers to enhance quote preparation.
