About The Position

The Controls Engineer is responsible for the implementation of technical projects/new equipment, maintenance of the industrial network, ongoing PLC work, shop floor data collection, and will assist with resolution of technical issues with the plant. This role requires ensuring plant industrial systems are maintained at optimum efficiency, programming systems to interact with the industrial network, and serving as a resource for data mining. The engineer will also assist in the implementation of programming for plant capital projects, make necessary changes to current systems, participate in new equipment selection, and support project implementation. Additionally, this role is responsible for the development, training, implementation, and compliance of the SQF program.

Requirements

  • Degree or Certification in Engineering or equivalent work experience required.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment or industrial programming.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in management and employee development.
  • Experience working with Rockwell’s FactoryTalk and RS suite of programs.
  • Experience with industrial networking and maintenance.
  • Experience working with cross functional teams, in a dynamic environment.
  • Thorough understanding of plant operations.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license, reliable mode of transportation and proof of automobile insurance with required levels of coverage.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server is a plus.
  • Familiarity with virtual environments and Vcenter preferable.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure plant industrial systems are maintained at optimum efficiency.
  • Program systems to interact with the industrial network such as corporate ERP or factory efficiency systems.
  • Be a resource for data mining for plant and coordinate operations.
  • Assist in implementation of programming for plant capital projects.
  • Make necessary changes to current systems to meet operational needs.
  • Participate in the selection process for new equipment.
  • Assist with implementation of projects as chosen by the plant teams.
  • Support the Maintenance Manager during project implementation.
  • SQF Support – Responsible for development, training, implementation and compliance to the SQF program
  • Plant operations are 24/7 – some tasks may require attention during outside of regular work hours.
  • Coordinate projects and repair activities within all departments.
  • Available for scheduled and non-scheduled travel.
