Building Controls and Services, Inc. (BCS) is a building automation and facility services company established in 1985. The company specializes in building automation and HVAC systems, offering design, installation, integration, maintenance, and support for systems controlling heating, cooling, ventilation, lighting, and other building functions. Requirements

Strong knowledge of automation systems, HVAC, and electrical concepts and operations.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Proficient in using the engineering workstation, including full capacity of AutoCAD drafting standards.
Proficient in using current Windows Operating System for workstation and server applications.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Mathematical abilities to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and create and interpret graphs.
Strong problem-solving ability.
Ability to carry out instructions provided in written, oral or diagram form.
Ability to evaluate the urgency of a situation and prioritize tasks.
Organized with an attention to detail.
Valid driver license.

Nice To Haves

Minimum one year of experience in engineering systems and/or systems service.

Responsibilities

Updates pertinent job-related information, including developing project information (system and cabinet layouts, database, submittal cut sheets) using given software to meet sales intent.
Generates RFIs (Request for Information) during projects.
Incorporates information from project blueprints and specifications into submittal booklets.
Prepares system overviews of network layouts.
Prepares “as-built” record drawings and documents from data supplied by installation or operations personnel, including graphical screenshots and printed programs.
Stays current with new software and changes to existing software by studying product manuals/brochures and navigating vendor websites for documentation.
Assists with sales estimating on potential or current projects by determining task completion time, correlating labor and material pricing, and generating pricing for necessary change orders.
Assists with the installation of controls jobs and projects, including startup, certification, project turnover, and installation of devices/controls.
Provides customer service and technical assistance to build and maintain customer relationships, presenting a professional image and acting as a technical resource.
