POSITION OVERVIEW The Controls Engineer II will develop, deploy, and improve Gentex automated manufacturing systems. Location: This position requires on-site work at a Gentex facility. This role is not eligible for remote work.

Requirements

  • 4-year Engineering degree, or combination of education and equivalent controls engineering experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience designing, programming or integrating automated equipment.
  • Experience with robotics applications.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional, expert-like support for new and existing automated systems.
  • Monitor and define areas of improvement within existing automated equipment.
  • Develop PLC programs and software for new and existing equipment.
  • Create electrical and pneumatic schematics.
  • Evaluate and specify hardware and software for automated equipment.
  • Work with other Engineers to standardize automated and programming solutions across similar equipment.
  • Support engineering team members in the development of new processes for manufacturing.
  • Educate and train production support teams during equipment or software launch.
  • Research and develop new solutions for automated equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.
