About The Position

Design smart motor control and PLC‑connected HMIs that give operators real‑time visibility, alarms, and diagnostics—and bring systems to life. As a Controls Engineer II / HMI Designer, you’ll design and support electrical conveyance and motor control solutions for large distribution centers, creating intuitive HMI interfaces that help end users operate and monitor material handling systems effectively. You’ll collaborate closely with customers and internal teams across integration, commissioning, troubleshooting, documentation, and user training.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2-5 years in industrial automation within intralogistics.
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical, manufacturing, or mechanical engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Applicant must be a good communicator, be poised under pressure, and be able to work directly with end customers.
  • Proficiency in Beckhoff and/or Allen-Bradley PLCs and HMI/SCADA development (e.g., Iconics, Ignition, FactorTalk View).
  • Experience with AutoCAD, industrial networks (EtherCAT, Ethernet/IP, and control system architecture).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft .NET, MS SQL Server.
  • Must have good knowledge of Computers and Windows operating system.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time, implementing, testing, and debugging their design solution including domestic and occasional international travel.
  • Flexible and detail‑oriented, you bring strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to adapt quickly to changing technical specifications.
  • You communicate effectively, take a service‑oriented approach, and collaborate as a team player in cross‑functional environments.

Responsibilities

  • Documenting design specifications, installation instructions, and other system-related information.
  • Communicating with our staff and clients to understand specific system requirements.
  • Providing advice on project costs, design concepts, and design changes.
  • Verifying stability, interoperability, portability, security, or scalability of system architecture.
  • Collaborating with engineers or software developers to select appropriate design solutions or ensure the compatibility of system components, evaluate current or emerging technologies to consider factors such as cost, portability, compatibility, or usability.
  • Design, develop, and implement high-performance HMI applications with a focus on usability, alarm management, and diagnostics.
  • Providing technical guidance or support for the development or troubleshooting of systems.
  • Identifying system data, hardware, or software components required to meet user needs.
  • Providing guidelines for implementing secure systems to customers or installation teams, monitoring system operation to detect potential problems.
  • Directing the analysis, development, and operation of complete controls systems, investigating system component suitability for specified purposes, and making specific recommendations regarding component use.
  • Performing ongoing hardware and software maintenance operations, including installing or upgrading hardware or software, designing, and conducting hardware or software tests for full functionality of the controls systems.
  • Establishing functional or system standards to ensure that operational requirements, quality requirements, and design constraints are addressed.
  • Completing specialized models and simulations by using manual or automated tools, to analyze or predict system performance under different operating conditions.
  • Training system users in system operation or maintenance and advising on security dynamics of developed controls systems components.
