We’re looking for a Controls Engineer I to join our Pennsauken, NJ team. In this role, you’ll be at the heart of designing and implementing servo motion controllers, automation systems, and other critical components for our specialized machinery. From programming and prototyping to testing and customer collaboration, you’ll help bring high-performance systems to life that exceed client expectations.

Requirements

  • PLC design and programming proficiency
  • Mitsubishi Ladder Programming (FX3/FX5) or equivalent experience with Beckhoff, Fanuc, Siemens, or Allen Bradley systems
  • HMI design and development experience
  • Strong skills in automation and robot programming
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer, or Controls Engineering is preferred. However, candidates with a degree in a related field or equivalent hands-on experience in controls and automation will also be considered.
  • 1+ years of hands-on experience in product design and development within an automated manufacturing environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Industrial robotics and process controls familiarity
  • .NET C or C# programming knowledge
  • Vision systems integration experience
  • Machine tool design familiarity
  • Autodesk Inventor, Inventor Vault, SolidWorks, and/or Epicor experience
  • Previous engineering project management experience

Responsibilities

  • Design & Development: Create electrical and electromechanical systems, including servo motors, motion controls, and high-precision feedback devices for Glebar and Tridex precision machinery.
  • Problem-Solving: Analyze designs for functionality, cost-effectiveness, and production readiness — estimating cost, reliability, and safety factors.
  • Customer Collaboration: Work directly with clients to define requirements and develop solutions tailored to their needs.
  • Cross-Functional Teamwork: Partner with engineers and stakeholders to implement machine design changes.
  • Testing & Debugging: Build, test, and modify product prototypes, isolating and resolving defects to ensure peak performance.
  • Project Coordination: Plan, schedule, and coordinate assigned engineering work and projects, controlling process efficiency throughout.
