About The Position

JR Automation, a Hitachi Group Company, is hiring a Controls Engineer I to work onsite at its Greenville, South Carolina facility. The role involves designing, implementing, and documenting controls systems for automated equipment, while gaining experience integrating robotics and other advanced automation technologies. The position may involve travel to customer sites and other JR Automation locations. Candidates must successfully complete a 10-panel drug screen, physical examination, and background check.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, an Associate’s degree with at least 2 years of relevant experience, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with one or more of the following: PLCs, HMIs, robotics, mechatronics, motion control, vision systems, or programming.
• Experience with CAD software such as AutoCAD Electrical or SolidWorks.
• Ability to interpret electrical and pneumatic schematic drawings.
• Willingness to travel up to 35%–50% to customer sites and other JR Automation locations.
• Successful completion of a 10-panel drug screen, physical examination, and background check.

Nice To Haves

• Current or prior JR Automation experience, or experience in the automation industry, is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and document controls systems for various types of automated equipment.
• Troubleshoot robot controllers, ladder logic, electrical control devices, mechanical units, transfer devices, and peripheral equipment.
• Perform machine power-up, debugging, and programming.
• Ensure equipment is designed and programmed to specifications using standard techniques and approaches.
