About The Position

As our Controls Engineer, Advisor – Power Systems, you will work closely with external EPCs to manage deliverables and ensure project alignment. You will also implement and maintain workflows to track and manage SCADA architecture and device configuration changes. This position can be based in Houston, TX, or San Francisco, CA, and will report to the Controls Engineering Director. Develop SCADA architecture for renewable energy power plants Configure SEL (Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories) devices like Relays, Meters, RTACs etc. are configured correctly to meet the power plant design requirements Manage and support development and troubleshooting activities for multiple projects simultaneously

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or Power System Engineering. In lieu of a degree we will accept a combination years of hands on experience in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or Power System Engineering
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of professional experience in developing Power System Controls for BESS/ Solar/Wind power generation systems
  • Knowledgeable in SEL (Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories) devices, including relays, meters, and RTACs
  • Knowledgeable in network communication architectures, telemetry, and protocols such as Modbus, DNP3, OPC-UA, and MQTT
  • Experience with software development lifecycle tools and version control systems, including Git
  • Experience with programming languages such as CodeSys, MATLAB, Simulink, or Python
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to take initiative and ownership of tasks
  • Effective communication with strong written and verbal communication skills
