About The Position

This role is suited to a technical professional with experience designing building automation systems, HVAC controls solutions, control schematics and sequences of operation. The opportunity is focused on creating effective controls designs for HVAC and mechanical systems, with the chance to develop technically, take on greater responsibility and contribute within a specialist engineering environment. Requirements

• Experience as a Controls Design Engineer, BAS Controls Engineer, HVAC Controls Engineer, Controls Engineer or similar building controls role
• Previous experience with BAS / HVAC controls systems is strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of mechanical and HVAC system operation
• Experience producing or interpreting electrical wiring diagrams, controls schematics and control documentation
• Knowledge of sequences of operation and control points
• Ability to understand how HVAC and mechanical systems operate beyond drafting requirements
• Strong electrical controls experience may be considered where supported by relevant mechanical systems knowledge

Nice To Haves

• Experience with controls design software such as Visio or similar tools
• Mechanical Engineering background or related technical education
• Experience supporting junior engineers or working towards technical leadership responsibilities

Responsibilities

• Design building automation and HVAC control solutions based on project requirements
• Develop and review controls schematics, wiring diagrams and related design documentation
• Create and interpret sequences of operation and control points
• Apply knowledge of mechanical and HVAC systems to produce practical controls designs
• Work with engineering teams to deliver accurate and effective controls solutions
• Support technical discussions and contribute to engineering processes
• Develop towards greater technical ownership and responsibility within the business
