About The Position

This role is for an Engineering professional early in their career who is excited to learn, grow, and make an impact within Emerson's Power and Water Solutions team in Cranberry Township, PA. The position offers hands-on experience with real-world projects supporting critical infrastructure across North America. The successful candidate will join the Power Retrofit Projects group, which delivers engineered control system solutions for power plants using Emerson’s Ovation™ Distributed Control System (DCS). The team covers the full project lifecycle, including engineering design, system integration, testing, and commissioning, providing a strong foundation for technical depth, industry knowledge, and career growth. From day one, the engineer will work alongside experienced professionals who are invested in their development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of related experience in an engineering environment.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% within North America.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future. This is not a position for which sponsorship will be provided. Individuals with temporary visas such as E, F-1 (including those with OPT or CPT), H-1, H-2, L-1, B, J or TN, or who need sponsorship for work authorization now or in the future, are not eligible.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering.
  • Experience designing or programming controls for Distributed Controls Systems (DCS) and/or Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) platforms.
  • Exposure to automation, industrial controls, or adjacent engineering fields.
  • Familiarity with boiler control, burner management systems, or NFPA85 guidelines.

  • Build and develop technical capabilities through hands-on project work and exposure to multiple engineering disciplines.
  • Support the application design and execution for thermal and conventional power projects.
  • Help ensure customer satisfaction throughout the project execution cycle.
  • Identify and support opportunities for continuous improvement and business growth.
  • Collaborate with customers, internal teams, and architect/engineering firms to help identify practical technical solutions.
