About The Position

This Co-Op position involves performing increasingly complex engineering assignments using theoretical knowledge and practical design methods. The role will assist with automation and controls engineering and DCS, PLC, and HMI systems development, depending on project availability. Opportunities may be available for on-site support. This work will be performed under direct supervision and in a close group of teammates. The primary responsibilities include the ability to complete assignments on schedule, learn and utilize automation engineering design standards, assist in problem-solving to determine the most simple and efficient approach to engineering tasks, assist in producing estimate-level preliminary designs, assist in producing detail design calculations, spreadsheets, reports, drawings, and sketches for various projects, and assist engineers and specialists in resolving routine layout and detailing problems.

Requirements

Current enrollment in a Bachelor or Master program of Chemical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering program at an accredited university.
GPA: 2.7 or above
Ability to learn new skills in a timely manner.
Good time management skills.
Good organization skills.
Ability to prioritize assignments.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to accurately estimate completion of assigned tasks.
Forecasting hours to complete assignments.
Ability to sit, stand, or walk for long periods of time.
Must be authorized to work in the United States.
