This role is responsible for hardware and software design activities for small building automation systems, applying engineering principles and practices for assigned projects. The engineer will design cost-effective control solutions to meet project requirements.

Requirements

Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Construction, Engineering Technology, or equivalent/related experience.
Windows operating system and Microsoft Office product knowledge.
Must have the ability to work as part of a team and must be able to work in a structured environment and maintain well organized records.
Some travel to construction sites within the district to determine controls solutions.
Flexibility to work outside normal work hours/weekends, as required.

Nice To Haves

Preferred experience in the HVAC industry such as Technician, project management, or estimating; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Familiarity with the operation and design of HVAC Systems, Building Automation Systems , and/or Temperature Controls preferred.
Experience with CAD program a plus, as well as basic understanding of electrical drawings and schematics preferred.

Responsibilities

Responsible for design of comfort control and automation systems.
Responsible for obtaining and reviewing contract documents; mechanical plans, specifications, estimates, equipment submittmits, etc. for incorporation into the design of an automation system.
Be able to conduct on-site project surveys within the district if need to determine controls solutions.
Responsible for creating installation drawings, submittal drawings, sequences of operations for the efficient installation of the project.
Responsible for transitioning these documents to the field.
May have programing responsibilities.
Responsible for the follow-up of creating as-built drawings, operation & maintenance manuals, and assisting with the transition of these to the service department.
Responsible for the production of all of the above which meets the project requirements and staying within the project estimate.
Maintains customer satisfaction by investigating concerns, implementing corrective action, communication with staff, providing customer feedback and solutions.
